Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Product Warranty provided by Amerisoft-Water
Softeners?
What is the Terms and Conditions of Amerisoft-Water Softeners?
What is different about Amerisoft-Water Softeners and
conventional home water softeners?
- Portability is the major difference. Both provide conditioned water,
many times referred to as soft ware. Conventional Water Softeners are
large pieces of equipment that are installed in your water lines, requiring
bulky salt tanks which hold hundreds of pounds of salt, electrical hook-up
and discharge drain lines.
- Amerisoft-Water Softeners are portable, have no electric motor, no salt
tanks, no drain lines and does not require professional installation.
How are Amerisoft-Water Softeners Installed?
- Amerisoft-Water Softeners come standard with water hose hook-up kits.
Installation is similar to adding a spray nozzle or sprinkler to your
water hose.
Are water softeners spot free?
- For most applications soft water is a cost effective approach to manage
water spots. Water softeners condition the water which minimizes water
spots. "Spot Free" is typically achieved through the use of
a water softener and one or more of the following: reverse osmosis systems,
chemical wetting agents or magnetic deionzation.
Is maintenance required for water softeners?
- Traditional residential water softeners should be regularly inspected
and professionally serviced to ensure proper operation. Occasionally control
valves fail, water leaks and drain blockages occur.
- Amerisoft-Water Softeners are engineered in sealed units which should
provide long-term trouble free use (excluding damage or misuse). An annual
inspection/service is recommended and is available through our exchange
program*.
Do water softeners require salt?
- Many rational residential water softeners require a large brine tank.
This tank holds multiple bags (40-50 lbs) of salt to fill the brine tank
and multiple bags of salt each month (depending on usage).
- Amerisot-Water Softeners do not require a traditional brine tank or
bags of salt.
How often should my softener be regenerated?
- Many traditional water softeners regenerate based on a timer or gallons
used, frequency ranging from daily to weekly.
- Depending on use, your Amerisoft-Water Softener may rarely need regeneration.
High soft water usage will require more frequent regeneration.
Should the Amerisoft-Water Softener replace my traditional
water softener?
- Amerisoft-Water Softeners are designed to provide soft water when your
traditional residential water softener is not available.
